     Food can also play a part in the treatment of insomnia.  Just like certain chemical components of herbs and plants used in the treatment of insomnia, certain food can be of aid in inducing sleep.  Although some of these have not been studied and are based on cultural beliefs, many practice these food tips for a better night's sleep.

Foods:

Bananas

Cucumbers

Garlic

Lentils

Lettuce (without vinegar)

Mandarin Oranges

Milk

Onions (raw)

Peaches

Peanuts

Syrup (from poppy seeds and poppy flowers)

Turkey

 

Meals:

Eat a light meal for dinner

Do not eat final meal late in the evening
